Amy and Lisa Crowley
Amy O’Leary, director of Strategies for Children’s Early Education for All Campaign, is always on the go.
Last month, Amy was at a breakfast hosted by Horizons for Homeless children where Geoffrey Canada, president of the Harlem Children’s Zone, was the speaker. She was also at Jumpstart’s Read for the Record at the Boston Public Library.
But the past part of the day was running into two former students from Amy’s classes at Cambridge College and Wheelock College. Amy teaches Advocacy, Policy and Leadership at both institutions.
The students:
Lisa Crowley graduated from Cambridge College with a bachelor’s degree and works at Horizons for Homeless Children. She was featured on our Voices from the Field blog series in August 2015 and graduated in May 2017.

Amy and Shanika Edouard
Shanika Edouard graduated from Wheelock College with a bachelor’s degree and now works at Ellis Memorial. One of Boston’s earliest settlement houses, Ellis’ programs include “high quality early education and care for infants, toddlers and preschool children.”
“With all of the discussion about supporting the early education workforce – I was thrilled to be able to congratulate these two students. I am so excited for these early educators and feeling hopeful for our field,” Amy says.
Wonderful!
